President Droupadi Murmu addressed the 165th convocation of the University of Madras and stated that women’s education is an investment in the progress of the nation. Educated women can contribute more to the economy, provide leadership in various sectors and make a positive impact on society, she added. Out of the 1.85 lakh students who are enrolled in the university and its affiliated colleges, more than 50% are girls.
