Cauvery Water Dispute: School holiday declared in Bengaluru on Sept 26

Various organizations, including farmers and pro-Kannada groups, have called for a citywide shutdown in Bengaluru on September 26 to protest the Karnataka government's decision to release Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. The shutdown, aimed at urging the government to reconsider its stance, was announced by Karnataka's Education Minister, BC Nagesh, with a focus on student and teacher safety. Parents are advised to keep their children at home and limit travel due to expected disruptions from the statewide bandh, affecting transportation and essential services in Bengaluru.
