The UP government has raised the annual Pre-Matric Scholarship amount by Rs 500 for students from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) communities, now providing Rs 3,500. Eligibility includes children aged 12 to 20, with class 10 students requiring a minimum 50% score. The scholarship now extends to children of manual scavengers. Age limits of 12-20 for pre-matric and below 40 for post-matric scholarships have been set. Students entering through management quotas are ineligible, but the flexibility allows students pursuing two graduate courses with a 75% attendance requirement.
