Gurugram Schools Closed: Classes Up to 5 Suspended Due to Declining Air Quality

Due to the deteriorating Air Quality Index (AQI) in Gurugram, physical classes in pre-school, pre-primary, and primary schools have been discontinued starting November 7, 2023. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram has advised schools to transition to online classes for students up to Grade 5. This decision comes after three consecutive days of 'Very Poor' air quality in the city. The Delhi government has also extended the closure of primary schools until November 10, 2023, due to high pollution levels. To protect oneself from poor air quality, it is recommended to reduce outdoor time, stay updated on air quality forecasts, wear masks if necessary, keep indoor air clean, avoid polluting activities, plan outdoor time smartly, support clean energy, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
