Maharashtra Child Rights Commission Urges Policy Reforms for Minority Educational Institutions

The Maharashtra State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MSCPCR) emphasized the need for reform in the policy allowing private educational institutions to gain concessions through minority status. Chairperson advocate Susieben Shah stressed that such institutions should not misuse the policy, ensuring fairness to minority communities. In a joint meeting with the education department on the Right to Education (RTE) Act, Shah proposed setting a minimum percentage for minority students when granting licenses to these schools, aligning with Central government rules.
