Arkansas schools to teach food literacy to students through farm-fresh lunches

Arkansas is launching the "Arkansas Plate Initiative," a pilot program set to begin in 2026, bringing farm-fresh, local foods to school cafeterias. This initiative aims to boost student nutrition and support state farmers. Participating schools will feature "Arkansas Plate Days" monthly, serving locally grown produce and meats, alongside educational materials about agriculture's role in the state economy.
